ISRO
ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) is the National Space Agency of India which was established in 1969 to carry out space-related work in India. ISRO is currently headquartered in Bangalore. ISRO has achieved many achievements over the years. ISRO is also credited with the steady progress in Science and Technology in India. ISRO has bestowed our country a special honour in the world today.

ISRO has contributed greatly to the strengthening of India’s space research organization and the development of Space Research. ISRO was founded on August 15, 1969 by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. He is considered as the ‘Father of the Indian Space Program’. It has played a very important role in the advancement of technology in India. ISRO is the space organization of the Government of India which conducts space-related research. ISRO also manufactures Satellites and Technology.

इसरो ने भारत के अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन को मजबूत करने और अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान के विकास में बहुत योगदान दिया है। इसरो की स्थापना 15 अगस्त 1969 को डॉ विक्रम साराभाई ने की थी। उन्हें ‘भारतीय अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम का जनक’ माना जाता है। विक्रम साराभाई ने भारत में प्रौद्योगिकी के विकास में बहुत महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है। ISRO भारत सरकार का अंतरिक्ष संगठन है जो अंतरिक्ष से संबंधित अनुसंधान करता है। इसरो सैटेलाइट और टेक्नोलॉजी भी बनाती है।

FACTS ABOUT ISRO
  • ‘Aryabhat’, the first satellite was launched into space on 19 April 1975 with the help of Russia.
  • SLV 3 was India’s first indigenous satellite and the Project Director was Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam.
  • ISRO has launched 79 satellites from 21 different countries including 86 satellites launched from India.
  • ISRO’s budget is 0.34% of total central government expenditure and 0.08% of GDP. This is not a high cost.
  • ISRO launched Chandrayaan-1 in 2008-09 and presented a budget of Rs 350 crore which is eight to nine times less than that of NASA. Water was discovered on the moon through this project.
  • ISRO successfully launched navigation satellites when many countries depended on US GPS for navigation purposes.
  • Along with USA, Russia, France, Japan, China, India is one of the 6 countries in the world that have the ability to build and launch satellites on the ground.

  • पहला उपग्रह ‘आर्यभट’ 19 अप्रैल 1975 को रूस की मदद से अंतरिक्ष में प्रक्षेपित किया गया था।
  • SLV 3 भारत का पहला स्वदेशी उपग्रह था और परियोजना निदेशक डॉ. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम थे।
  • इसरो ने भारत से लॉन्च किए गए 86 उपग्रहों सहित 21 विभिन्न देशों के 79 उपग्रहों को लॉन्च किया है।
  • इसरो का बजट केंद्र सरकार के कुल खर्च का 0.34% और जीडीपी का 0.08% है। यह एक उच्च लागत नहीं है।
  • इसरो ने 2008-09 में चंद्रयान-1 लॉन्च किया था और 350 करोड़ रुपए का बजट पेश किया था जो नासा से आठ से नौ गुना कम है। इस प्रोजेक्ट के जरिए चांद पर पानी की खोज की गई थी।
  • इसरो ने नेविगेशन उपग्रहों को सफलतापूर्वक लॉन्च किया जब कई देश नेविगेशन उद्देश्यों के लिए यूएस जीपीएस पर निर्भर थे।

IIRS-ISRO: Free Live & Interactive Courses
Under IIRS Outreach Programme, Live & Interactive programme was initiated in the year 2007 with the participation of 12 universities in India using satellite based interactive terminal.

आईआईआरएस आउटरीच कार्यक्रम के तहत, लाइव और इंटरएक्टिव कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत वर्ष 2007 में उपग्रह आधारित इंटरएक्टिव टर्मिनल का उपयोग करके भारत में 12 विश्वविद्यालयों की भागीदारी के साथ की गई थी।

Live and Interactive classroom: The use of Remote Sensing, Geographical Information Systems, Global Navigation Satellite Systems and associated geospatial technologies is increasing rapidly, creating an urgent demand for trained manpower. The live and interactive mode of distance learning is enabled through Internet and A-view software platform developed by Amrita e-learning Lab in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Government of India. The programs are available through Internet without any cost to the user.

IIRS-ISRO: Learner centric E-learning Courses
IIRS Outreach Programme focusses on strengthening the Academia and User Segments in Space Technology & Its Applications using Online E-Learning Platforms. Under this programme the two mode of content delivery system is developed using online learning platform (i.e) Live & Interactive mode (known as EDUSAT) and e-Learning mode.

आईआईआरएस आउटरीच कार्यक्रम ऑनलाइन ई-लर्निंग प्लेटफॉर्म का उपयोग करके अंतरिक्ष प्रौद्योगिकी और इसके अनुप्रयोगों में अकादमिक और उपयोगकर्ता खंडों को मजबूत करने पर केंद्रित है। इस कार्यक्रम के तहत ऑनलाइन लर्निंग प्लेटफॉर्म-लाइव और इंटरएक्टिव मोड (एडुसैट के रूप में जाना जाता है) और ई-लर्निंग मोड का उपयोग करके सामग्री वितरण प्रणाली के दो मोड विकसित किए गए हैं।

The e-learning courses are self-paced and learner-centric and target professionals, academia and the research community to enhance their knowledge in remote sensing and geospatial technology using online simulated learning contents.
