A golden opportunity to enjoy space observation has come in this month of December for all the astronomy lovers. Full Moon/Cold Moon, Geminids Meteor-showers, Mercury, Ursid Meteor-showers, New Moon, Close Mars etc. are some major astronomical events which are happening this month. |

The shower owes its name to the constellation Gemini because the meteors seem to emerge from this constellation in the sky.

| Every late December, skywatchers can head outside and watch the annual Ursid Meteor shower. The Ursids meteor shower is active annually between December 17 and December 24. The shower usually peaks around December 23. At its peak, observers may be able to view as many as 10 meteors in an hour.
