Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had invited online applications from Indian school students for a Free Online Certificate Course. ISRO’s centre, the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), offers a five-day course called ‘Usefulness of Remote Sensing and GIS for Environmental Studies’.
The main objective of this course is to raise awareness among students about Remote Sensing Technology and its use for the study of Earth and Environment. Satellite data and image processing can help students to understand the complexities and confusions about the environment.
Important:
- The course is for Indian students, studying in 10th, 11th and 12th classes only.
- The five-day course will be held between 26 July – 30 July 2021.
- The lectures will be covered LIVE on the IIRS YouTube channel.
- Every day there will be two online lectures of 45 minutes each. One will be held at 10 am the other at 12 pm.
- Participants can get their questions answered by raising questions in the chat box. This will be answered after a five-minute break post the lecture.
- Students also have to take a QUIZ every day based on the content of the lectures.
- If a student misses the live lecure, they can access a recorded version uploaded to the IIRS Learning Management System (LMS) portal. This will be updated at 3 pm everyday.
How to apply:
- Read Course Brochure and Guidelines before registration.
- Single student can apply at one time.
- Upload your image in JPG or PNG format.
4. Once the application form is submitted, you will get Login Information on your registered Email ID. You may then Login to LMS Portal.
5. Last date of application is 20 July 2021.
6. After completing five day Online Course, students have to submit their Report or Feedback.
7. Students will get Certificate on their Email, by 5th August 2021.
